John Lennon and Yoko Ono are seen outside the U.S. Immigration offices in New York City, Friday, April 18, 1972. Lennon was given 60 days to leave the country voluntarily or be deported as an undesirable alien at the hearings. Lennon is being deported as part of the U.S. President Nixon's effort to silence him as a critic of U.S. involvement in the war in Vietnam. To this end the FBI has assembled approximately 300 pages of files on Lennon from 1971-72. (AP Photo)

Mar 25, 1969 - Amsterdam, Netherlands - During the Vietnam War, in 1969, JOHN LENNON and YOKO ONO held two, week-long Bed-Ins for Peace, in Amsterdam and Montreal, which were their non-violent ways of protesting wars and promoting peace. Knowing their March 20, 1969 marriage would be a huge press event, John and Yoko decided to use the publicity to promote world peace. They spent their honeymoon in Room 702 at the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel for a week between March 25 and 31, inviting the world's press into their hotel room every day between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. (Credit Image: ?
