Among film notables whose successful participation has added interest to the racing season at Santa Anita is Fred Astaire whose one-horse stable has done all right so far and is being groomed for the $100,000 Santa Anita Handicap. Astaire's horse is the four-year-old Triplicate which has already shown up in the winner's circle and has been nominated for the world's richest race on June 30th.
